Thailand's Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) has released new regulatory guidelines clarifying what influencers, content creators, and bloggers can and cannot do when discussing insurance on digital platforms without a license. Key rules: educational content and personal experience sharing are permitted; however, selling insurance, recommending specific products, or earning commission-based compensation requires proper insurance agent/broker licensing. The guidelines also strictly prohibit promoting unlicensed foreign insurance companies and mandate clear disclosure of sponsored content and licensing status. This addresses growing concerns about misleading insurance content on social media.
