Thailand will host the IMF-World Bank annual meeting (AM2026) in October 2026 in Bangkok, a rare honor held only by 3 countries outside the US twice. The event is expected to attract 15,000+ delegates from 191 countries and generate tangible economic returns: 60,000+ hotel rooms booked, community-based textile and GI products (jasmine rice, fabrics) integrated into event activation, and MICE industry growth targets of 10%. The Thai government has approved 1.16 billion baht funding. Key policy pillars include digital finance, green finance, and AI/digital transition, positioning Bangkok as a regional financial hub.
