Thailand's Insurance Commission (คปภ.) is promoting a new "SME Package" insurance product bundling property, inventory, equipment, and business interruption coverage in a single policy to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) mitigate financial impact from unexpected events. The regulator recommends SMEs conduct "risk X-ray" assessments of their operations to identify which risks to self-insure versus transfer to insurers, and emphasizes that comprehensive coverage can accelerate business recovery after disruptions. This addresses a critical gap for capital-constrained SMEs, which face risks ranging from natural disasters and accidents to business continuity threats.
