Thailand's Transport Ministry is proposing two energy transition projects totalling 30 billion baht from a loan decree budget: (1) DLT fuel subsidy support Phase 2 for transport operators (6 billion baht), and (2) conversion of seven public transport vehicle categories (taxis, motorcycles, tricycles, buses, etc.) to EV, hybrid, or biodiesel alternatives (24 billion baht). Implementation could begin immediately upon approval; the energy transition project could launch by October 2026. This reflects the government's push to reduce oil dependency and improve environmental outcomes while providing direct support to transport operators and the public.
