Thailand's Tourism Authority reports Songkhla province—anchored by Hatyai—has recovered impressively from late-2024 flooding, generating 32.2 billion baht in the first seven months of 2026 (vs. 54 billion for all of 2025). Malaysian and Singaporean visitors (948,802 and 28,248 respectively in the same period) are driving traffic through border gates. TAT forecasts full-year 2026 revenue of 55 billion baht on 7.5 million visitor arrivals, and targets 55.9 billion baht in 2027 by leveraging UNESCO Creative City gastronomy status and planned mega-events.
