BYD has officially opened its integrated manufacturing facility in Rayong with 35 billion baht investment, producing 5 EV and PHEV models at 5,000–6,000 units/month. The plant is export-focused (40% of output to 10+ markets), employs 5,000+ workers (94% Thai), and plans capacity expansion to 2 shifts with 9,000+ staff. BYD is localizing management and technology transfer to Thai engineers, and is pushing the Thai government for differentiated incentives for integrated manufacturers with high local employment and export volumes, particularly for PHEV models.
