Thailand's ETDA (Electronic Transactions Development Agency) is launching a major push in 2027 across four pillars: expanding Digital ID infrastructure with verifiable credentials (VC), advancing AI governance from policy to practical implementation via the AIGPC center, promoting SME digital transformation, and regulating digital service platforms under the DPS law. Key achievements include 1,797 government e-services now connected to Digital ID (162.63M cumulative accounts), and AI governance frameworks deployed across education, justice, government (20 ministries), and finance sectors. The agency is positioning Thailand for cross-border digital transactions and interoperability testing with World Bank support.
