Thailand's national space policy board approved a multi-pronged strategy to develop a space economy: establishing the country's first spaceport, advancing space technology R&D (Earth observation satellites, remote sensing), enabling foreign satellite landing rights with public-interest safeguards, and positioning Thailand for the US Artemis lunar programme. The cabinet also fast-tracked space commerce legislation and a national space master plan (2566–2580) to build long-term capability and reduce dependency on imported space technology, while supporting precision agriculture, disaster management, and air-quality monitoring via satellite data.
