Sansiri has launched Laan Learn, a 21-rai integrated specialty coffee learning centre in Kalyyaniwattana district, Chiang Mai, in partnership with Borirak Abhikauntikul's "Coffee Comrades" network. The initiative bridges upstream coffee farmers (elevated at Sai Sansiri farm) with downstream skill-building for younger generations (at Siri Campus), promoting shade-grown coffee that restores forests while improving farmer livelihoods. A secondary school dropout turned aerospace engineer, Borirak shifted to coffee in 2014 to build positive social enterprise, replacing Fair Trade with "Friend Trade" (knowledge exchange with farmers without monetary transaction), and positioning quality coffee (graded lots reaching 20,000+ baht/kg vs 300 baht/kg commercial grade) as both conservation and community economic growth.
