Thailand's Gems & Jewellery Institute (GIT) held the GIT Outstanding Research & Innovations Award 2026 at the 74th Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair, showcasing six finalist research projects aimed at advancing the gem and jewelry industry. Winning innovations include SpeXtralysis (a spectroscopy data analysis platform), Orithai (a creative economy jewelry brand), metal powder injection molding, and sustainability solutions like CerGems (using rice husk ash for gems). The initiative aims to bridge academic research with commercial applications and boost competitiveness for Thai entrepreneurs, with the fair attracting nearly 3,000 booths and an expected 50,000 visitors generating billions in trade.
