Google has introduced new technical standards requiring Android apps to meet strict RAM usage limits, effective February 2027 (April 2027 for Zero-Tap Sign-In). Apps exceeding these thresholds will be barred from Google Play Store. The criteria include memory usage tiers, bitmap optimization, DEX code compression, and seamless re-authentication. Thai app developers have ~18 months to comply or lose distribution access—a critical deadline for SME dev shops relying on Play Store as their primary channel.
