Bangkok's Metropolitan Administration is rolling out a unified electric train ticket capped at 45 baht per trip across all metro lines (BTS, MRT, Gold Line) starting January 1, 2027. The measure applies to all registered lines in Bangkok and surrounding areas using EMV contactless payments (credit/debit/Rabbit cards), with fare overages refunded within 3 business days via the Pao Tang app. Vulnerable groups retain existing discounts or can opt for the flat 45-baht fare, whichever is cheaper. This addresses last-mile commute costs for SME workers and improves public transport efficiency.
