Thailand's government is promoting the "Thai Help Thai" initiative offering subsidized half-interest loans through village funds nationwide. A budget of 4.4 billion baht has been approved to reduce borrowing costs for members across 63,125 village funds. Additional measures include capital increases and the SML Plus programme expansion (349 funds approved, 1,241 more in second round). SMEs and microfinance participants should apply immediately to reduce debt servicing costs, with applications still being collected in many districts.
