Thailand's National Water Resources Office is monitoring three northeastern provinces (Bueng Kham, Ubon Ratchathani, and Nakhon Phanom) for potential flooding as the Mekong River water level rises due to heavy rainfall in Myanmar and Laos. The Xayaburi Dam is currently releasing 14,949 cubic meters per second. Authorities are coordinating with MRC member countries to share advance water data and plan flood gates and pump closures if high water impacts agricultural and residential areas in low-lying zones.
