Thailand plans to secure UNESCO Creative Cities Network recognition for two new destinations every two years, targeting 35 Thai cities by 2037. The strategy aims to boost tourism revenue in recognized areas by 10-30%, with nine cities currently holding UCCN status and six more designated since 2019. Candidates for 2027 recognition include Pattaya (film), Chanthaburi (gastronomy), and Si Sa Ket (crafts), while community-based tourism within designated areas generated 137 million baht in 2025, up 22.3% year-on-year.
