OpenAI has acquired Instant, the developer of InstantDB—a real-time database platform offering Backend-as-a-Service for AI agents. The entire Instant team will join OpenAI to strengthen infrastructure for AI agent operations. InstantDB has supported 17,000+ developers building over 400,000 apps since 2021. Deal value undisclosed.
