Thailand's Ministry of Agriculture is leveraging Bahrain as a gateway to penetrate GCC and Middle East markets, positioning itself as a high-quality and halal food producer. The strategy combines three initiatives: expanding agri-trade with Bahrain (crops, livestock, food security), collaborating with FAO on climate-resilient agriculture and AI-driven productivity, and partnering with Japan on smart agriculture to address aging farmers and water management. This multi-front approach aims to transform Thailand from a commodity producer into a tech-enabled agricultural hub serving both ASEAN and the Middle East.
