Thailand's Finance and Industry ministries are revising the Manufacturing Production Index (MPI) methodology after US concerns over falsely declared Thai-origin goods used to obtain lower tariffs. Thailand exported only 0.5% growth in MPI in 2024 versus 3.9% in export growth, prompting review. Electronics dominate Thailand's top-10 exports to the US; over 232 million parcels enter Thailand annually. Customs collected 4.6 billion baht in import duties and 3.3 billion baht in VAT on such goods in the first 11 months of fiscal 2026.
