Thailand's Deputy PM Suphachai announced a 2-billion-baht consolidated agricultural fund for fiscal year 2027, designed to stabilize farmer incomes and crop prices amid anticipated El Niño climate volatility from late 2026 into 2027. The framework covers six measures spanning production and marketing support across multiple commodities (field crops, oil crops, fruits, livestock, fishing, sea salt, florals). Government is also reviewing reference pricing mechanisms to enable faster, more targeted interventions when market conditions shift. Focus is on structural strengthening—from production quality to value-added services—not just crisis response.
