Thailand's central bank has launched a coordinated initiative with 11 financial sector organizations to combat money laundering, online gambling proceeds, and corruption-related funds. The framework includes six key measures: tightening cash withdrawal monitoring (above 5 million baht), reporting gold transactions (2kg/10m baht), capping foreign exchange purchases, implementing enhanced KYC/CDD standards, monitoring digital assets (USDT), and flagging 24 anomalous behavior patterns. Early results show measurable decline in high-risk transactions, though enforcement remains with law enforcement while the financial sector acts as a bottleneck.
