ASUS has released the ROG Rapture GT-BN98, the world's first commercial Wi-Fi 8 router, launching first in Canada with October rollout planned for other markets. The Wi-Fi 8 standard won't be formally finalized until May 2028, but ASUS is shipping against draft specs with planned firmware updates. Key improvement over Wi-Fi 7 is reliability in dense signal areas rather than speed; throughput stays at 30 Gbps across all bands. The Pro model is priced at CAD 1,299.99 (~THB 31,000).
