Thailand's Energy Ministry has drafted four scenarios for the 2026 Power Development Plan (PDP 2026) to be presented for public consultation in September. The plan aims to increase clean energy to 60–80%, introduce 2,400–4,000 MW of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), deploy battery energy storage systems (BESS), and cap average electricity prices at 4 baht per unit across the plan period. The proposal responds to growing demand from data centers and new industrial zones while accommodating emerging technologies like EVs and distributed solar systems.
