Deputy PM Supattana unveiled a comprehensive industrial policy to revitalize Thailand's manufacturing base, targeting three strategic sectors (defense, rail, medical devices) while promoting emerging industries (biotech, AI, semiconductors, photonics). Government will open public procurement markets to domestic suppliers and support SME development via GMT SMEs program. The government will also renegotiate US tariffs in late August—currently 72% of Thai goods have exemptions, with 28% still under negotiation. Five to six laws will be reviewed to align with new global economic structures.
