Google is shutting down Google Assistant on mobile devices, Wear OS smartwatches, Android Auto vehicles, and Gemini-enabled earbuds starting September 4, 2026. The transition will happen gradually over several weeks, with users unable to revert to Assistant afterward. Devices like Android Automotive vehicles, Google Home speakers, and Google TV devices will continue receiving the Assistant with plans to migrate them to Gemini in due course.
