Thailand's Digital Economy Ministry (DE) revealed a massive data breach affecting approximately 200 million login credentials across 30,000 government and 35,000 private-sector systems. Most breaches stem from unmaintained legacy systems over a decade old. Immediate response includes forced password resets across 300 government agencies within 15 days, mandatory multi-factor authentication (MFA) rollout, and development of a new centralized digital identity infrastructure. The Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) enforcement will tighten standards for cybersecurity measures in both public and private sectors.
