Thailand's broadcasting authority (NBTC) is coordinating with the Consumer Council to address fallout from a planned C-Band satellite TV transition (2569–2573 roadmap), which will repurpose 3700–4200 MHz spectrum for 5G/6G. An estimated 8 million households currently depend on C-Band DTH service—particularly vulnerable groups in remote areas, elderly, and low-income households—and risk losing service unless equipment-replacement support is formalized. A dedicated task force is being proposed to clarify funding responsibility, compensation mechanisms, and transition timelines before the shutdown.
