Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reported a 150% surge in investment fraud complaints during the first half of 2025, with 4,530 total reports received. The regulator has suspended 60,968 suspicious digital asset accounts (up 27.8% YoY) and successfully blocked 374 fraudulent channels in coordination with social media platforms. Enforcement actions included 23 criminal cases with 67 defendants, and 29 civil settlement cases resulting in combined civil fines and restitution of over 1.18 billion baht. This reflects growing risks in Thailand's digital asset sector requiring heightened vigilance from SMEs and investors.
