Thailand's Gemstone and Jewelry Institute (GIT) has been recognized in CIBJO's latest report for developing national gem terminology standards aligned with international benchmarks. GIT has also been elevated to P-Member (Participating Member) status in ISO/TC 174, granting full voting rights in jewelry and precious metals standards development. This marks Thailand's shift from a production-export hub to an active standard-setter, positioning Thai businesses to anticipate global market requirements and reducing trade barriers. The gem and jewelry sector exported $16.9B (including gold) in H1 2026, up 20.74% year-on-year.
