Thailand's SEC has tightened Travel Rule requirements for digital asset operators, effective 27 February 2027, mandating collection, verification and five-year retention of transaction data to combat money laundering and tech-enabled crime. Operators must verify counterparty identity and intermediaries in transfers, with regulations developed in coordination with Thailand's Anti-Money Laundering Office. The framework aligns Thailand's standards with FATF international norms and aims to improve digital asset traceability while reducing risks of financial crime and terrorism financing.
