Thailand's Department of Corrections has deployed Traffy Fondue—a digital surveillance platform developed by Thailand's National Science and Technology Development Agency—to prisons to accelerate disease monitoring and outbreak response. Prisons reported 91 disease outbreaks in 2025 (including 50 influenza, 18 COVID-19, and 7 food poisoning incidents affecting thousands). The adapted system uses prison-specific QR codes instead of GPS, role-based access controls, and SLA-based escalation to enable real-time data flow between prisons, hub hospitals, and disease control authorities while protecting inmate privacy under PDPA. This addresses critical gaps in manual reporting that previously delayed epidemic response across confined and external populations.
