Thailand's tripartite economic forum (กกร.) has raised its 2026 GDP growth forecast to 2.1–2.5% (from 1.6–2.0%), driven by stronger-than-expected exports (12–16%) and private investment. However, domestic value capture remains weak due to high import dependency. The government is urged to clarify data center policy as a priority investment: each 100 MW facility requires ~60 billion baht. A private-sector task force has been established to develop an integrated ecosystem linking data centers with PCB manufacturing, clean energy, and smart manufacturing. Oil prices have risen to $95/barrel amid Middle East tensions, adding economic pressure.
