Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is consulting on new rules to allow retail and institutional investors to trade foreign digital asset derivatives (crypto and digital token futures) under stricter risk controls. Products must trade on regulated exchanges with central counterparty clearing under IOSCO/WFE oversight; complex/high-risk derivatives remain limited to institutional investors. The SEC is aligning domestic rules with foreign DA derivatives offerings and accepting public feedback until 30 September 2026.
